Royal Family Makes a Move to Forest Lodge in Windsor

The Prince and Princess of Wales, Prince William and Kate Middleton, are making a significant change in their living arrangements, moving from Adelaide Cottage to Forest Lodge in Windsor Great Park.

According to property expert Russell Quirk, the rental market in Windsor has become more popular, increasing the demand and likely the rent for Forest Lodge. The new home of Prince William and Kate Middleton, a "really beautiful Georgian house" in a "secluded spot," comes with a lofty price tag. Reports suggest that they pay approximately 17,000 euros per month for the rent of this luxury residence, which includes eight bedrooms and a tennis court in Windsor Great Park.

The move to Forest Lodge is seen as a long-term decision by Prince William and Kate Middleton, potentially serving as their forever home. The changes being made to Forest Lodge are aimed at ensuring privacy for the family. New shrubs are being planted, and a metal fence with black mesh privacy screens is being installed.

Royal expert Ian Pelham Turner suggests that William and Kate may be setting a precedent for future monarchs to live a humbler existence. The Prince and Princess of Wales, along with their kids, are reportedly viewing the move to Forest Lodge as a chance for a new beginning for their family.

The move to Forest Lodge has generated opinions from others, given their royal status. However, the couple is paying for the renovations to Forest Lodge themselves, making it an investment for them. The rental for Forest Lodge, which was advertised for £15,000 per month in 2001, is approximately £30,000 per month now, or about £7,000 per week. Inflation has likely doubled the rent for Forest Lodge, making it approximately £30,000 per month now.

The usual challenges of making a new home ready and meeting standards accompany the move to Forest Lodge. Despite these challenges, the move represents an exciting new chapter for Prince William and Kate Middleton in their royal life.
