Rudy Giuliani, former NYC mayor and former lawyer for Trump, sustained injuries in a car accident.

Rudy Giuliani, the former New York City mayor and one-time Republican presidential candidate, was recently involved in a car accident in the US state of New Hampshire. The incident occurred on a weekend evening, according to reports.

Giuliani was traveling in a rental car when his vehicle was struck from behind at high speed. The accident resulted in a fractured thoracic vertebrae, multiple lacerations and contusions, injuries to his left arm and lower leg. After the crash, Giuliani was taken to a nearby trauma centre for treatment.

Before the accident, Giuliani had been flagged down by a woman who was a victim of a domestic violence incident. However, it is important to note that Giuliani contacted police assistance on her behalf, but the crash was entirely unrelated to the domestic violence incident.

The crash was not a targeted attack, according to Giuliani's head of security. Further details about the domestic incident and crash are not immediately available.

Giuliani served as US President Donald Trump's personal attorney for a time and was a vocal proponent of Trump's allegations of fraud in the 2020 election. However, Giuliani lost numerous lawsuits claiming fraud and recounts, reviews, and audits found no significant wrongdoing or error in the 2020 election.

In a recent development, two former Georgia elections workers won a $148 million defamation judgment against Giuliani. The judgment was awarded for Giuliani's false claims that the workers had illegally altered election results.

Andrew Giuliani, son of Rudy Giuliani, expressed gratitude for well-wishes on social media platform X. He stated that his father is currently recovering from his injuries. Giuliani was given the nickname "America's mayor" in recognition of his leadership during the September 11 attacks in 2001.

Despite the recent accident, Giuliani's legal troubles are not over. He was found in contempt of court and faced a trial over the ownership of some of his assets this winter. It remains to be seen how this incident will impact his legal proceedings.
