Russia increases Shahed drone manufacturing to 2,700 units monthly, as reported by Ukraine's Defense Intelligence

Russia's production of Shahed drones, a type of kamikaze unmanned aerial vehicle, has significantly increased, posing a formidable challenge for Ukraine's air defense systems. According to Andrii Yusov, a Defense Intelligence representative, Russia is currently producing 2,700 units of Shahed drones per month.

The Shahed drones being produced are the Russian version of the Iranian-made Shahed, known as Geran-2. In addition to attack drones, Russia is also producing a significant number of drones without warheads, referred to as decoys. These decoy drones are used to exhaust Ukraine's air defence systems.

Russia's increased production of Shahed drones is a significant concern for Ukraine and its allies. Large-scale strikes by Russia, combined with the use of these drones, are a serious challenge for Ukraine's air defense. The use of Shahed drones by Russia poses a challenge for Ukraine's partners to protect Ukrainian skies as well.

The production of Shahed drones by Russia is a challenge not only for Ukraine but also for its air defense systems. The drones are reportedly being used in combined attacks alongside missiles, making it difficult for Ukraine to counteract them effectively.

It is worth noting that Russia's weapon production is reportedly being supported by North Korea and Iran. At an extraordinary meeting of the Ukraine-NATO Council, Ukraine's Deputy Defence Minister Serhii Boiev informed allies that Russia is significantly building up weapon production with the active support of North Korea and Iran.

Despite the challenges posed by Russia's increased production of Shahed drones, Ukraine's forces have been successful in destroying a significant number of Russian vehicles in recent operations. In one operation, Ukrainian forces reportedly destroyed over 40 Russian vehicles.

However, the conflict has taken a heavy toll on both sides. There are plans for Russia to return 6,000 bodies of Ukrainian soldiers, but only 15% have been identified.

Russia's production of Geran-2 drones is capable of reaching up to 2,700 units per month, according to Yusov. However, it is important to note that Russia is technically unable to produce thousands of Shahed drones on a daily basis, according to the same source.

In conclusion, the increased production of Shahed drones by Russia is a significant challenge for Ukraine and its allies. While Ukraine's forces have been successful in destroying a significant number of Russian vehicles, the use of these drones poses a threat to Ukraine's air defense systems and the safety of Ukrainian skies. The support of North Korea and Iran in Russia's weapon production only adds to the complexity of the situation.
