Russians inflict casualties in Zaporozhye: One fatality, 22 injuries reported

In the early hours of August 30, Russian forces launched a massive attack on the Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia. The assault, which involved strike drones and missiles, resulted in significant damage to the city.

According to preliminary reports, 14 multi-story buildings and over 40 private homes were damaged in the nighttime attack. Among the damaged buildings are high-rises, private homes, and industrial structures. The fires caused by the attack, as well as the power outages in some areas, were previously reported.

The damage to these buildings has left them disconnected from electricity and gas supplies. Around 6 am, the DSNS reported that two five-story and five private residential buildings were hit.

Preliminary reports indicate one fatality and 22 injuries, including three children - boys aged 9 and 10, and a 16-year-old girl. By 7 am, Fedorenko reported an increase in the number of casualties, with a total of 22 injured.

The attack disrupted the electricity supply in some areas of Zaporizhzhia. Power outages were reported following the assault.

The Russian attackers who launched the attack on Zaporizhzhia were identified as Russian occupiers or Russian troops. No specific organization beyond the Russian military or occupying forces is explicitly named in the sources.

The damaged buildings are currently being assessed and emergency services are working to restore power and provide aid to the affected residents. This attack is the latest in a series of violent incidents in the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
