Yankees News: Stanton's Return to Outfield, McMahon's Debut, and Injury Updates

The New York Yankees are gearing up for an exciting stretch run, with several key developments shaping their roster.

Giancarlo Stanton, who has been sidelined from outfield play since his return from an IL stint, might be set to return to action in that position. Manager Aaron Boone is considering using Stanton in the outfield when Aaron Judge returns from injury, and he plans to have Stanton work out in the outfield to assess his readiness.

Meanwhile, Ryan McMahon, who spent 12 years with the Colorado Rockies before being traded to the Yankees, made his debut with the team on Friday night. Arriving at Yankee Stadium around 8:30 p.m., McMahon played third base and went 1-for-3 with a walk in Saturday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies. The infielder expressed his excitement about joining a pennant race with the Yankees.

Injury updates for the team include Ryan Yarbrough, who is expected to throw a full bullpen session in the coming days as he recovers from an oblique injury. Yerry de los Santos, who has been on the 15-day injured list, returned from his rehab assignment and was reinstated to the active roster.

Scott Effross was optioned to Triple-A after Friday's game, while Allan Winans was optioned to Scranton following Saturday's loss.

On the pitching front, Luis Gil, who has been recovering from a lat injury, is expected to make another minor-league rehab start this week for Triple-A Scranton. After the rehab start, Gil should be in contention to make his season debut for the Yankees.

The Yankees will face the Baltimore Orioles at Oriole Park at Camden Yards in their next game, following their match against the Phillies. The team will be hoping for a strong performance from their revamped lineup as they continue their push towards the playoffs.
