In the much-anticipated premiere of And Just Like That... Season 3 on HBO Max, Sarah Jessica Parker donned a unique accessory that quickly became the talk of the town - a "cloud hat".

The oversized and shapeless headpiece, designed by Maryam Keyhani, caught the eye of many viewers, drawing polarizing reactions. Yet, Parker never gave a second thought to people's responses, considering the decision to wear the hat as "fun or interesting."

During a Question and Answer round hosted by Threads on August 11 at il Buco al Mare in Amagansett, New York, Parker shared details about the viral "cloud hat". She revealed that she saw the hat among the wardrobe team's clothes, jewelry, and accessories and immediately fell in love with it. Determined to find a place for it in the show, Parker asked the wardrobe team how to wear the "cloud hat".

Interestingly, Parker never anticipated the hat would become a viral sensation. In fact, she previously mentioned this in the media, and even joked that the hat looked like the "Hindenburg balloon" on Carrie's head, a comment made by the creator of And Just Like That... Michael Patrick King.

The "cloud hat" drew attention from fans, with some comparing Carrie Bradshaw to "Strawberry Shortcake". Parker, who has expressed her love for hats on Carrie Bradshaw, found the comparisons amusing.

Meanwhile, the design of the well-known cloud cape worn by Parker in the third season was created by Christopher John Rogers. Despite the challenges milliners typically face when working with linen due to its resistance to shape and form, Keyhani managed to create a headpiece that perfectly complemented Parker's outfit.

This is not the first time Parker discussed the viral "cloud hat" in the media. In May, she told Glamour that she would have felt the same even if she knew the hat was three by four feet. Parker's unapologetic approach to fashion choices has always been a part of her character, both on and off-screen.

As the season progresses, it will be interesting to see how the "cloud hat" continues to influence pop culture and inspire fashion enthusiasts worldwide.
