Scenic Heli-Tourism Routes Unveiled by Telangana: Flight Excursions from Hyderabad to Srisailam Now Available
Telangana, a southern Indian state, is set to transform its tourism landscape with the launch of an ambitious heli-tourism project. The initiative, announced by Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, will connect Hyderabad with Somasila via Srisailam.
The heli-tourism project is being rolled out in partnership with travel platform EaseMyTrip. Passengers will soon be able to fly over the Nallamala forests, Srisailam dam, stretches of the Krishna river, and land at Somasila. This unique experience promises to showcase the state's natural beauty in a way never seen before.
One of the most ambitious projects accompanying this venture is a INR 45.84 crore wellness and spiritual retreat on Amaragiri Island. Other infrastructure projects worth over INR 68 crore are being initiated at Somasila, Nalamma, Amaragiri Island, and Eegalapenta. Notably, the boating point and VIP ghat at Somasila will be upgraded at a cost of INR 1.60 crore.
Officials believe that the mix of helicopter rides, wellness retreats, and spiritual circuits will reshape Telangana's tourism identity. The state is determined to shift from being seen as a stopover to becoming a destination state, attracting both domestic and international visitors.
In addition to the heli-tourism service, other infrastructure projects are also underway in Telangana. These include upgrades to existing facilities, such as the enhancement of water sports and adventure tourism offerings.
The new helicopter service in Telangana is operated by the Andhra Pradesh Government. The helicopter service will connect the locations mentioned above, offering tourists an unparalleled opportunity to explore the state's hidden gems.
As work on these projects progresses, Telangana is set to reshape its tourism sector, providing visitors with unforgettable experiences and cementing its position as a must-visit destination.
