Scheduled Operations in Schermbeck on Wednesday
The Schermbeck Fire Department was kept busy on Wednesday, responding to two incidents that required their immediate attention.
The first incident occurred early in the morning at the Gahlen fire station. The call sign for this incident was "Storm Damage", and it was on WaldaustraΓe. A fallen tree was blocking the road, posing a significant obstacle for traffic. Using a chainsaw, the fire department Schermbeck managed to cut up and remove the fallen tree from the road, ending the incident at around 3:37 AM.
Just a few hours later, at 12:53 PM, the Altschermbeck fire station was alerted to a new incident at Lippeweg. This time, a branch was threatening to fall onto the road at the new incident site. Despite a technical fault preventing the Schermbeck turntable ladder from being used, a turntable ladder from the fire department Dorsten was requested to handle the new incident. Using this equipment, the branch was successfully cut up and removed, bringing the incident to a close at 2:05 PM.
