Scooter Operators Impaired by Alcohol and Substances: An Examination of LPI-EF Incidences
In the city of Erfurt, a 43-year-old man has found himself in legal trouble after an incident involving an e-scooter. On Tuesday evening at 8:00 PM, the man was stopped by the Thuringian Police State Police Inspectorate in AndreasstraΓe.
According to the police, the man's breathalyzer test showed a reading of over 0.4% alcohol, and his drug test also came back positive. As a result, he was charged for driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
In addition to this, the man was also charged for violating the compulsory insurance law. It is reported that the insurance plate attached to his e-scooter was not issued for the vehicle.
At present, there is no publicly available information about the timing of the trial or who the Erfurt public prosecutor's office has charged in this case. The man was taken to the station for a blood test, and it is unclear where he currently is. The incident serves as a reminder to always prioritise safety and follow the rules of the road, whether on foot, in a vehicle, or on an e-scooter.
