Season Five of Emily in Paris Sparks Polarized Sentiments amongst Viewers
After a successful run in Paris, the much-loved Netflix series "Emily in Paris" is shaking things up for its upcoming fifth season.
Fans are eagerly anticipating the return of Emily Cooper (Lily Collins), who relocated to Rome in season four, and the arrival of her Italian love interest, Marcello. However, some viewers might notice a notable absence - Rupert Everett, who played a recurring character in season four, has been fired from the series.
The fifth season will continue the Italian shake-up, with filming taking place in Venice. A video shared online previews Emily's Venetian getaway, and the first look images from the season offer a taste of Italian culture. The show's credits will also undergo a shake up, with Minnie Driver joining the cast as Princess Jane, a close friend of Sylvie.
However, the move to Venice has sparked a divided reaction among fans. While some are excited about the change of scenery, others have expressed dissatisfaction, with one comment reading, "It's not Emily in Paris anymore."
The departure of Camille Razat, who played Camille in the first four seasons, has also been confirmed. Razat has announced she will be stepping away from the series to focus on other projects.
Despite these changes, many of the show's beloved characters will return for season five. Lily Collins, Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, and Lucien Laviscount will all reprise their roles.
As the release date approaches, the show is generating headlines due to surprise castings and first look images. Emily in Paris season five is set for release on 18 December 2025.
One viewer has even suggested a new name for the show - "Emily in Italia." Whether you're a fan of the original Paris setting or excited for the Italian shake-up, there's no denying that season five of "Emily in Paris" promises to be an exciting watch.
