Second scheduling of women's cycling event slated for July
The Women's Solidarity Ride, an exciting cycling event, is scheduled as part of the Liv Women's Cycling Day. This event, organised by the Latvian Cycling Girls club, aims to unite professional cyclists and women who cycle for leisure and pleasure.
Taking place at the Biķernieki track, the Women's Solidarity Ride is a 11-kilometer long ride, consisting of two laps. The route is open to women, as well as male supporters, and teams from work groups are invited to join.
The goal of the event is to encourage an active lifestyle and foster a sense of community among female cyclists in Latvia. Participants are encouraged to wear pink clothing or accessories as part of an optional dress code.
Svetlana Dreimane, head of the Latvian Cycling Girls, made a statement about the event. She emphasised the importance of the event in promoting cycling and respectful dialogue in society.
Participation in the Women's Solidarity Ride is free of charge, but prior registration is required by July 7. The event starts at 18:30.
The Latvian Cycling Girls club, active for five years, supports Latvian amateur cyclists in various cycling disciplines, including mountain biking and road racing. The club also aims to develop the female cycling community in Latvia.
