Secretary Ulrich Lange discusses the extended S7 plan and the delayed B11 implementation
In a collaborative gathering at Geretsried's town hall, Ulrich Lange, parliamentary state secretary for transport, MP Alexander Radwan (CSU), state MP Thomas Holz (CSU), and Geretsried mayor Michael Müller (CSU) convened to discuss the future of the region's transportation infrastructure.
The meeting centred around two significant projects: the extension of the S7 line from Wolfratshausen to Geretsried, and the relocation of the B11 road. Both projects were highlighted as crucial for the region's development, not only in terms of traffic but also for the local economy.
Mayor Müller expressed his delight at the clear sign of collaboration during the meeting, emphasising the need for all political levels to work together for the realisation of large projects like the S7 extension and B11 relocation.
Federal Minister for Transport and Digital Infrastructure, Patrick Schnieder, was mentioned in connection with these projects. Ulrich Lange assured that he would take the urgency of these projects back to Berlin, emphasising the importance of a functional infrastructure, particularly for towns and rural districts in the catchment area of major cities like Munich.
MP Radwan underlined the importance of having reliable partners in Berlin to expedite these projects, as a significant portion of the funding falls under federal responsibility. His office later released a statement about the topics discussed in the meeting.
The discussions during the meeting aimed to expedite the realisation of the S7 extension and B11 relocation, with the ultimate goal of improving transportation and connectivity in and around Geretsried. The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of the involved parties to this cause.
Roads and railways must be able to meet challenges, according to Ulrich Lange, and the B11 expansion and S7 relocation were seen as key steps in achieving this goal. The collaboration between political representatives from various levels of government was highlighted during the meeting.
The S7 extension and B11 relocation remain key infrastructure projects for the region, and the discussions held in the meeting are a positive step towards their realisation. As the region continues to grow, the need for efficient and reliable transportation infrastructure becomes increasingly important, and the commitment shown by the political representatives at this meeting is a promising sign for the future.
