Security Company SimpliSafe Dons Protection Equipment

Home security company SimpliSafe has announced a new professional services offering, targeting customers who prefer a "do-it-for-me (DIFM)" service outside of its traditional DIY users.

The new offering will leverage the expertise of security and AV integrators and installers for market expansion. SimpliSafe's Chief Growth Officer, Scott Braun, stated that this move is part of the company's mission to ensure that everyone has access to the best home security.

Previously, there was no relationship between SimpliSafe and the integrator industry. However, the company has now selected regional sales companies in the United States for its new offering, focusing on partners with strong local market knowledge and expertise in smart home security solutions.

SimpliSafe will partner with regional distribution companies instead of using the traditional dealer model. Kostas Reissis, who joined SimpliSafe in March and has architected the new channel program, stated that this move is financially rewarding for integrators, with SimpliSafe offering better margins than the competition.

The new offering will be competitive from a wholesale pricing standpoint for integrators. Integrators can provide SimpliSafe as a solution or option for customers through this new offering.

Reissis, known for his work as one of the founding members of Sonos, has been receiving positive feedback from integrators since April. SimpliSafe will hold events at distributor facilities to announce the new offering and train integrators.

The professional monitoring options for the products will include the company's new Active Guard service, which was covered extensively at CES 2025 in January. This new offering represents a market expansion for SimpliSafe, as the company aims to reach customers who require technicians for installation.

SimpliSafe will focus on regional distributors, specifically mentioning availability via the PowerHouse Alliance. Braun stated that the company does not envision a traditional dealer model and hopes every integrator offers SimpliSafe products to their customers.

The new offering is designed to cater to customers who are not technically inclined or too busy to install the technology themselves and would rather hire a professional. Reissis sees this new offering as an opportunity to create new relationships with residential integrators.

In Braun's words, "This move is part of SimpliSafe's mission to make every home secure." SimpliSafe's mission remains unchanged: to make home security accessible and affordable for everyone.
