Seized Drugs in Hidden Bags: ET PRIOS and Service Dog Discover Over Five Dozen Pressurized Drug Bags in Vehicles - Culprits Apprehended - Imprisonment Ensuing
In the residential neighbourhood of Dyer Street, officers made an arrest on Tuesday, 30th July, 2024. A 23-year-old Albanian man was taken into custody after a patrol revealed suspicious behaviour.
The man was found driving his car slowly, arousing the suspicion of the law enforcement officers. After a thorough investigation, a white substance was discovered in his vehicle.
An image taken during the arrest shows the potential hiding spot for drugs in the vehicle. The substance was found under the gearshift cover, while some of it was also found in a bag. The white substance was later identified as 27.5 grams of cocaine, hidden in 59 zip-top bags.
The K-9 unit was called to confirm the presence of drugs, and further visual evidence of the suspected drug-related activity was provided in the image. However, the image does not depict the K-9 unit or the 59 zip-top bags containing the cocaine.
Despite the arrest, there is no publicly available information identifying the judge hearing the case of the homeless man. It was later confirmed that the man was indeed homeless at the time of his arrest.
The image reveals additional evidence of the presence of drugs in the vehicle, but it does not show the white substance being identified as 27.5 grams of cocaine. The hiding spot for drugs in the vehicle was also depicted in the image.
The arrest occurred during a routine patrol in the Dyer Street residential neighbourhood, and the case is currently under investigation.
