Seizure of Illegal Substances in Bottrop During Raid

In a significant development, police in Recklinghausen and Bottrop have carried out a joint operation that led to the seizure of a substantial amount of illegal substances and weapons.

The operation, which took place in the city centre of Recklinghausen, saw the search of a residence. During the search, approximately 1 kilogram of amphetamine was seized, along with a knuckleduster, a dagger, and an air rifle.

A 35-year-old woman from Bottrop was provisionally arrested in connection with the operation. The suspect's identity of a man of the same age, who is also suspected by the police in the drug and weapons investigation, remains undisclosed at this time.

In a related incident, nearby residential buildings in Bottrop were evacuated during the operation. Gustav-Ohm-Straße was closed off for traffic.

The initially unknown substances found in the apartment were later classified as harmless. However, investigations into drug trafficking are ongoing.
