Seth Davies Secures Victory in Super High Roller Bowl PLO, Pocketing $1,500,000 Prize
In the high-stakes world of poker, the Super High Roller Bowl PLO event, held at the PokerGO Studio in Las Vegas, saw a thrilling conclusion on August 28, 2024. The event, with a $100,000 buy-in and 42 entries, was a spectacle of poker prowess, culminating in Seth Davies's triumphant victory.
Davies, a seasoned player, faced Artem Maksimov in the heads-up match. The initial advantage lay with Davies, who held a 2-to-1 chip lead. However, Maksimov managed to close the gap, making for an exciting and tense final showdown.
The turning point came when Davies profited from a flopped set, pushing his lead back out to better than 3-to-1. From there, Davies managed to maintain his lead, securing the victory and a prize of $1,500,000.
Interestingly, the Super High Roller Bowl PLO event in 2024 did not see any new champions apart from Davies. Notable absentees included Jeremy Ausmus, who did not participate in this event.
Meanwhile, in the world of poker rankings, the 2024 PokerGO Tour (PGT) Leaderboard saw Michael Mizrachi leading comfortably with 2,250 points. Alex Foxen is close behind with 2,132 points, expected to challenge for the top spot. Other notable players like Daniel Negreanu, Nick Schulman, Adam Hendrix, John Wasnock, Braxton Dunaway, Chino Rheem, and Philip Sternheimer also feature in the top 10.
Elsewhere in the poker world, Jeremy Ausmus did earn his first PGT win of the 2024 season, shipping the $15,100 PLO at the PGT PLO series. Santhosh Suvarna, on the other hand, secured a bar in the EPT event, but did not win the Super High Roller Bowl PLO event.
During the final day of play, Davies found himself down to just two big blinds before staging a remarkable comeback to claim victory. The Super High Roller Bowl PLO has been a significant event in 2024, bringing up several champions, although Davies was the only new name in the Super High Roller Bowl PLO event of August 28.
