The city of Munich is delighted to announce the completion of the "Echardinger Green Strip" park, located at the Innsbrucker Ring in Berg am Laim. This expansive green space, spanning over 4.3 hectares, is now a new addition to the recreational facilities in the area.
The park, which cost approximately 7.06 million euros to construct, is a collaborative effort funded by both federal and state governments. The new facility, boasting a variety of recreational activities, includes a soccer court, table tennis tables, gym equipment, a street basketball court, and a boules court. For adrenaline seekers, a new pump track, an artificially created mountain bike trail, and a 55-meter-long noise barrier suitable for bouldering are also available.
In addition to the active pursuits, the park offers tranquil spaces for relaxation. Meadows, trees, and areas for leisure activities provide a serene environment for residents and visitors alike. The park also houses a new playground, equipped with a wooden climbing structure, a tube slide, a water play area, a merry-go-round, and two zip lines, ensuring fun for children of all ages.
The northern part of the park was opened in July, with the Green Mayor, Dominik Krause, and the Green Building Councilor, Jeanne-Marie Ehbauer, expressing their pleasure with the new park. Alexander Friedrich (SPD), the head of the Berg am Laim district committee, also voiced his satisfaction, stating that such municipal care offers are important, especially in times when the social and cultural infrastructure in Berg am Laim is under pressure due to a tight budget situation.
The "Echardinger Green Strip" park is not just a recreational hub; it's also a catalyst for further development in the area. Two schools, a children's house, and a sports campus are being built near the park, promising a vibrant and thriving community.
