Seven new vehicles acquired by the Dormagen Fire Department have been blessed.
In a significant move to strengthen its combat capabilities, the municipality of Dormagen has acquired seven new fire department vehicles, with two more special-purpose transport vehicles earmarked for the locations of Hackenbroich and StΓΌrzelberg.
The new fleet, valued at approximately 2.1 million euros, includes a command vehicle stationed at the main fire station on Kieler Street. This vehicle is equipped with a modern radio system, computer technology with special deployment software, and an extendable light mast with a surround camera and weather station. It supports the leadership of the B-service and acts as an interface to the regional control center.
Another vehicle at the main fire station is a large tank fire engine, designed for fighting large fires. It boasts a large water tank, various foam and powder loads, and powerful water cannons.
Three new vehicles will also be stationed at the main fire station, including a special-purpose transport vehicle with additional equipment. This vehicle, similar to the one destined for Delhoven, features a modern drone for reconnaissance, a worktable for image evaluation, and a rear monitor for displaying aerial images.
The new fleet is completed by an ambulance, equipped with a modern stretcher, comprehensive medical equipment, and the ability for direct communication with a telemedicine doctor.
In Delhoven, a special-purpose transport vehicle will be stationed, offering additional equipment tailored to the needs of the location. The Gohr fire department will receive a new help and rescue fire engine worth approximately 560,000 euros. This versatile vehicle can accommodate up to nine deployment forces and serves as a universal all-rounder for both firefighting and technical assistance.
These vehicles are designed for the flexible transport of deployment forces and equipment, providing valuable support for the deployment forces and significantly improving the combat power of the fire department.
Mayor Erik Lierenfeld and Fire Chief Bernd Eckhardt handed over an outdated command vehicle to the Dormagen DLRG. On Saturday, September 23, Pastors Ulrich EΓer and Frank Picht blessed seven new emergency vehicles of the Dormagen Fire Department. With these new vehicles, the fire department is well-prepared for all deployment scenarios in the future.
The older vehicles are gradually being taken out of service, making way for the new additions to the fleet. According to Mayor Erik Lierenfeld, these acquisitions ensure that the fire department is well-equipped to handle any emergency situation that may arise.
