Baden-Württemberg Police Modernization: A 37 Million Euro Investment for Enhanced Safety and Efficiency
The Baden-Württemberg government has announced an investment of 37 million euros in modernizing its police force, aiming to improve safety and efficiency across the region.
At the heart of this investment program is the modernization of special units for the purchase of equipment items, which will receive around 2.8 million euros. This funding will be used to renew, replace, and expand the protective and deployment equipment of police officers, ensuring they are equipped with the best tools for the job.
The Baden-Württemberg police is also investing heavily in the modernization of its evidence securing and documentation vehicles and trucks, at a cost of around 4.9 million euros. This will help in the efficient collection, processing, and preservation of evidence, a crucial aspect of any investigation.
To strengthen criminal technology, around 1.5 million euros will be spent on renewals of special equipment, including spectrometers, a DNA robot street, and X-ray systems. These updates will provide the police with advanced tools to combat crime more effectively.
The Baden-Württemberg police headquarters deployment is also receiving significant investment, with around 670,000 euros allocated for its equipment. This includes powerful flashlights, hearing protection technology, and ballistic protective equipment, all designed to enhance the safety and effectiveness of the deployment.
In addition, around 840,000 euros will be invested in the renewal and further development of the technical equipment of the criminal police. This includes the establishment of a fleet management system and the acquisition of police drones and drone countermeasures, which will aid in surveillance and response efforts.
The police force is also optimizing its internet presence, with around 220,000 euros allocated for technology and measures. This includes the optimization of the internet presence of the Baden-Württemberg police, aiming to improve communication and transparency.
Minister of the Interior Thomas Strobl has stated that this investment program ensures that the police in Baden-Württemberg can operate under the best possible conditions. He emphasized the importance of investing in the police force to maintain public safety and security.
