Seventy-five years of the German Amateur Radio Club association
On August 30, the downtown of Baunatal will be buzzing with technology and community spirit as the German Amateur Radio Club e.V. (DARC) celebrates its 75th anniversary.
The largest non-profit organization for amateur radio enthusiasts in Germany, DARC, based in our city, invites everyone to join the festivities. The event, running from 10 am to 5 pm, will be free for all.
Amateur radio, an official radio service for personal education, mutual exchange, and technical studies, operated out of personal interest and without commercial intent, connects over 67,500 people in Germany and more than two million radio amateurs worldwide.
The city hall will host a diverse lecture program, exciting exhibitions, and information booths from associations, clubs, and companies. On the market square, an amateur radio and technology market will be set up, inviting young explorers to participate in various experiments and technical stations.
An exhibition in cooperation with the city's fire department and the department for emergency and crisis communication will showcase the importance of amateur radio in times of crisis.
The hosts of the lectures and exhibitions for the 75th anniversary of the Deutscher Amateur-Radio-Club e.V. (DARC) on August 30th in Baunatal are primarily the DARC Baunatal local office and numerous helpers from across Germany, with partners including the Baunatal fire department and youth fire department.
