Severe Car Accident on the BAB 23 in Dägeling: Three Individuals Hospitalized
In an unfortunate incident on the A23 highway near Dageiling on August 26, 2025, a traffic accident involving three cars occurred, resulting in serious consequences for two persons and a criminal investigation for negligent bodily harm.
According to the information sourced from Presseportal.de, the accident occurred at approximately 17:43. The incident involved a 64-year-old man from Büsum driving a Mercedes GLC, a Mercedes C-Class driving ahead on the right lane, and another Mercedes C-Class driving on the left lane.
As a result of the collision, two people were taken to hospitals with serious injuries, and one person with minor injuries. The 64-year-old man from Büsum suffered minor injuries, while the 50-year-old passenger from the same Mercedes C-Class was also seriously injured. Tragically, the 51-year-old driver of the leading Mercedes C-Class was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, and doctors could not rule out life-threatening injuries the next morning. Remarkably, the driver of the third vehicle remained unharmed.
The A23 was closed in the direction of Heide until 21:00, causing significant traffic disruptions. The Itzehoe Public Prosecutor's Office has requested an expert to take over the accident investigation. The investigation is being conducted by the Elmshorn Police Highway and District Office.
