Severe fog impairs visibility in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and certain districts of Dubai this morning; police caution motorists about potential hazards on the road.

Severe fog envelops Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and sections of Dubai this morning, prompting police to issue a warning to motorists.

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has issued a dense fog alert for several regions in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), including Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Dubai, which is expected to persist until 8:30 AM on Tuesday.

According to the NCM, the temperature highs in the country will range between 42 to 46Β°C, with the average temperature in coastal areas being between 37 to 42Β°C. In mountainous regions, the average temperature will be between 30 to 36Β°C. Humidity will be moderate at 70 to 90 per cent in coastal areas, and it is expected to increase by night and Wednesday morning, especially over coastal and internal areas.

The NCM has also warned those with dust allergies to be careful if heading outdoors, as light to moderate winds at times will cause blowing dust and sand. Additionally, the sea will be slight in the Arabian Gulf and in the Oman Sea.

In response to the foggy conditions, Abu Dhabi Police have posted safety warnings on social media, advising motorists to reduce their speed to 80 kms/hr and exercise extra caution due to low visibility. The maximum speed on Abu Dhabi roads during fog has been reduced to this limit. Motorists driving on these roads should be particularly careful, as foggy conditions have been reported in Madinat Zayed, Al Khidayrah, Um Al Ashtan, Al Ghuwaifat, and Gasyoura in the Al Dhafra region, as well as west of Um Azimul and Al Qou' in Al Ain. Foggy conditions have also been reported in western parts of Dubai, including Jebel Ali and Dubai Investments Park (DIP).

Despite the fog, no new safety warnings have been posted by Abu Dhabi Police regarding road conditions or speed limits, and no new weather alerts have been issued by the NCM. However, the NCM has issued red and yellow weather alerts for these areas, indicating that caution should still be exercised.

Weather conditions across the country are expected to be partly cloudy at times. In the regions of Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al-Quwain, and Ras Al Khaimah, the dense fog warning is expected to last until 8:30 AM on Thursday morning.

Motorists and pedestrians are advised to stay safe and follow the advice of the authorities during this period of dense fog.
