Shoal Bay Man Strikes Gold After 40 Years of Playing Same Lottery Numbers

A man from Shoal Bay, New South Wales, has struck gold in the Weekday Windfall draw. The Division 1 prize winner, who has been using the same numbers for decades, only realised his life-changing win one week after the draw on 22 September 2025.

The lucky winner, who has chosen to remain anonymous, purchased his winning ticket at Shoal Bay Newsagency, Shops 32-33 Bay Village. The winning numbers were 2, 10, 41, 27, 13, and 3, with supplementary numbers 24 and 5. It took a week for the winner to realise his fortune, as he initially missed several calls from lottery officials.

The winner plans to celebrate his million-dollar win with a well-deserved drink. He also intends to seek financial advice, indicating a responsible approach to his newfound wealth.

The Shoal Bay resident's persistence in using the same numbers for 40 to 50 years has finally paid off. His Division 1 prize of AU$1 million ($661,400) is set to transform his life. The winner's story serves as a reminder that patience and persistence can indeed lead to life-changing rewards.
