The Drive Electric Alabama Bay Area Chapter has announced two upcoming electric vehicle (EV) showcase events, taking place on Saturday, August 30, and Saturday, September 20.

On August 30, the first event will be held at Love's Travel Stop in Irvington. The second event will take place on September 20 at the Son of a Sailor Fest in downtown Mobile.

These showcase events aim to make as many EV models as possible available for attendees to view and learn about. EV owners will be on hand for one-on-one conversations, ready to share their personal experiences with electric vehicles.

Henry Brewster, a leader with the Bay Area Chapter, encourages anyone with questions about EVs to attend these events. He believes they are an excellent opportunity to learn more about the benefits of electric vehicles, including the additional savings available to Alabama Power customers.

Alabama Power customers can access additional savings, such as a discounted rate on all electricity during overnight hours and a $500 rebate for the installation of an in-home charger. However, it's important to note that the federal tax credits for new and used EVs end on September 30.

Attending the EV showcase in Irvington on August 30 could help potential EV owners learn about the ending tax credits. Additionally, many common questions about EVs, such as range and charging costs, can be answered by talking to EV owners.

The Bay Area Chapter of Drive Electric Alabama recently held a successful EV showcase at Greer's Market on St. Louis Street in Mobile. They hope to keep the momentum going in south Alabama and are looking forward to seeing a lot of people at the upcoming events.

One notable supporter of the Drive Electric Alabama Bay Area Chapter is Michael Staley, President of the Alabama Clean Fuels Coalition. He drives an all-electric, full-sized Chevy pick-up truck and is a strong advocate for the adoption of EVs in Alabama.

Anyone is invited to come out to the upcoming EV showcase events and kick the tires, talk to EV owners about their personal experiences, and learn more about the benefits of electric vehicles. So, mark your calendars for August 30 and September 20 and join the Drive Electric Alabama Bay Area Chapter in celebrating the future of transportation.
