"Silent Drama Hailing from Brazil: BAMBU BAMBÁ"
In October, the Heinz Hilpert Theater in Lünen will play host to a unique and inspiring musical theatre piece, "Bambu Bambá," by the renowned Brazilian artist collective Bando de Brincantes.
This silent story, suitable for children aged 6 to 5th grade, follows the journey of Bambá, a black boy who leaves his homeland due to war and environmental disasters. As Bambá encounters new cultures and learns about rituals, he finds strength in his own traditions, breaking down prejudices in a playful way.
The performance, funded by the Brazilian Ministry of Culture as part of the PNAB (National Aldir Blanc Policy), promises a message of hope, courage, and unity through imagination and impressive music.
The performance is scheduled for October 1st at 5 PM and October 2nd at 11 AM. Admission to the performances is free, but registration is required under kltrbrlnnd.
Following the performance on October 2nd at 5 PM, there will be an artist talk on "Theatre, Migration, Diaspora, and Childhood" (English-Portuguese with German translation).
