In a significant move, the North Rhine-Westphalia state government has announced its decision to provide financial support to Friedensdorf International, an aid organization based in Oberhausen and Dinslaken. The funds will be used for medical case-by-case aid for sick and injured children who cannot be helped in their home countries.

Stefan Zimkeit, a member of the state parliament for Oberhausen-Sterkrade and Dinslaken, and the budget and finance spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group, made the announcement. He revealed that 600,000 euros have been allocated in the 2021 state budget for Friedensdorf International.

Zimkeit acknowledged the great importance of the work done by Friedensdorf International, which includes medical aid projects and peace education. He expressed his gratitude to the staff at Friedensdorf International for their dedication and the positive impact they have had on countless lives.

Dietmar Nietan, who represents the Bundestag for Oberhausen-Sterkrade and Dinslaken and serves as the finance and budget spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group, also confirmed the allocation. Nietan stated that the 600,000 euros will serve to bolster the funds of Friedensdorf International, enabling them to continue and expand their vital work.

The allocation of these funds is part of a broader budget planning process. The final decision on the 2021 budget, including the allocation for Friedensdorf International, will be made by the state parliament in December. However, Zimkeit expects the 600,000 euros currently included in the budget draft for Friedensdorf International to be approved.

Friedensdorf International has already made a significant difference in the lives of many children with its aid efforts. The organization has provided medical assistance, education, and support to children in need, both within Germany and abroad. With the additional funding, they hope to help even more children in need.

The North Rhine-Westphalia state government's decision to support Friedensdorf International is a testament to the importance of charitable organisations in our society. It underscores the government's commitment to helping those in need and ensuring that every child, regardless of their circumstances, has the opportunity to live a healthy and fulfilling life.
