Skoda unveils a contemporary reinvention of the Felicia Fun model

In an exciting development, Skoda has revealed a modern reinterpretation of the iconic Felicia Fun pickup truck, originally produced between 1997 and 2000. The concept design, which pays homage to the historical heritage of the model while embracing the current Skoda design approach "Modern Solid", was created by French designer Julien Petitseigneur.

Petitseigneur emphasized that proportions and robust details are central Modern-Solid features of the concept. He used digital tools and AI for the project, generating initial ideas with prompts and refining them manually. The entire concept phase was completed in about two weeks, with most work done in evening sessions.

The new design of the Felicia Fun features a wider body with large wheels and black wheel arch trims, giving it a more robust and modern look. The front is inspired by today's Skoda electric studies, featuring a Tech-Deck mask and T-shaped LED lights reminiscent of the Vision 7S. At the rear, the design continues with pink rear lights connected by a continuous light bar, echoing the 1990s style.

Inside, the cockpit combines retro and modern elements. The interior design features a continuous screen that follows the lines of current models but displays a user interface reminiscent of 1990s video games and classic CRT monitors. More pink accents can be found in the brand logo, on the wheels, and in the window tint of the new Felicia Fun. A prominent contrast spoiler is also featured on the concept.

The original Felicia Fun was based on the Felicia pickup series but had unique features that set it apart. One such feature was a sliding partition behind the front seats for two additional open-air seats. All 4,216 units of the original Felicia Fun were painted yellow, with optional color accents on components like bumpers or sills. However, it's unlikely that this modern reinterpretation will result in a production car.

Skoda hasn't specified the powertrain for this concept of the Felicia Fun. The designer of the modern reinterpretation model of the Felicia Fun presented by Skoda is Oliver Stefani. This modern take on the Felicia Fun is a testament to Skoda's commitment to preserving its rich history while pushing the boundaries of innovation.
