In the picturesque German-French border region around Saarlouis, the latest instalment of the popular German crime series "In Truth" is unfolding. The ninth case of the series, titled "Forever Yours," promises to be as intricate as its predecessors, with empathetic detective duo Judith Mohn and Freddy Breyer at the helm.

The story begins with an idyllic father-son camping trip that takes a tragic turn when Anna Brück, Moritz Brück's wife, is found shot dead in her jewelry shop. The crime scene sets the stage for a gripping investigation that takes an unexpected turn as the detectives delve deeper.

Initially, Mohn and Breyer suspect a robbery gone wrong, but as the investigation progresses, the robbery theory starts to crumble. The detectives probe the Brücks' private life and circle, leading them to a second phone belonging to Anna. Moritz seems surprised by its discovery, leading them to suspect she might have had a lover.

The investigation uncovers clues indicating Anna had a secret affair with a man named Otto Harms. On Anna's second phone, investigators discover multiple calls regarding the attempted sale of a watch belonging to Harms' deceased partner, Wulf Benning, who died of skin cancer. This link to a deeper motive involving revenge or jealousy tied to a lawsuit connected to a skin cancer early detection app developed by Moritz Brück.

Otto Harms' husband died of cancer, a condition that Moritz's startup aimed to detect early. This connection makes Harms a potential suspect in Anna's murder, harbouring vengeance for his deceased husband. Judith Mohn tries to mediate Moritz's ongoing conflict with his father, Georg Brück, as the case takes a darker turn.

The case of Anna Brück's murder appears to be different from what was initially suspected, promising a thrilling twist in the latest episode of "In Truth." Don't miss "In Truth: Forever Yours" airing on ZDF on Saturday, September 6, at 8:15 PM, and available in the media library thereafter.
