Snooker Competition for Women Globally, 2025: Mink Nutcharut Reaches the Finals - Have You Been Tracking Bai Yulu's Progress?
The Snooker World Women's Championship 2025 is living up to its reputation for excitement, as the semi-finals saw all participants being 26 or younger. The final match, scheduled for tomorrow at 12:00 CET, will feature Mink Nutcharut and Bai Yulu, who are set to face each other for the second time in a World Final.
Bai Yulu, the defending champion and current favourite for the title, has been in impressive form. She defeated three-time champion Ng On Yee, 34, in the quarter-finals and is heavily favoured against her opponent Xia Yuyin in the second semi-final. Yulu, who is just 21, will also play against the defending champion in the final if she manages to overcome Xia.
Mink Nutcharut, 25, has had a remarkable journey to the final. She defeated Baipat Siripaporn, 26, in the semi-finals with a score of 5-1. This is Nutcharut's fourth final appearance at the Snooker World Women's Championship, and she won the title in 2022, finishing the season as the world number one.
Xia Yuyin, who is not well-known to many fans, caused a major upset by defeating 12-time champion Reanne Evans, 39, in the last 16. Xia's journey, however, ended in the semi-finals, but she has shown that she is a force to be reckoned with in the world of snooker.
The road to the final was not easy for some players. Diana Schuler, a German Snooker player, was eliminated in the group stage. In her match against Danni He, a piece of Schuler's cue tip broke off, affecting her game. Schuler had to play with glasses in her second match due to eye problems, but she could not progress further.
Schuler also competed in the Seniors World Women's Snooker Championship, reaching the quarterfinals before losing to Xiaomin Su, 42, 2-3.
The final of the women's Snooker World Championship will be a thrilling encounter between two young talents. It will begin tomorrow at 12:00 CET and can be watched live on the WPBSA's YouTube channel. The winner will join the ranks of the past champions and will be crowned the Snooker World Women's Champion 2025.
