Social media buzzing with unsubstantiated financial speculations about OB Nopper
The European League of Football (ELF) is gearing up for a thrilling finale as the Stuttgart Surge and the Vienna Vikings prepare to face off on Sunday at 3 PM in the MHP Arena.
The MHP Arena, a venue known for hosting Bundesliga matches and other large events, will play host to this exciting showcase event on September 10, 2025. The city of Stuttgart has authorised VfB Stuttgart to play in the stadium, providing a fitting stage for the final match.
The final is a game of superlatives, according to ELF CEO Zeljko Karajica, who has dismissed rumours about the final not taking place due to financial difficulties. The two teams battling it out are the top contenders in the league, as stated by Karajica, making the match a highly anticipated event.
Stuttgart's Mayor of Honour, Frank Nopper, will be among the spectators at the ELF final. Nopper, who has shown willingness to negotiate regarding the training facilities for Stuttgart Surge after the ELF final, has been a vocal supporter of the team. He has even expressed hopes that the ELF cup stays in Stuttgart.
Nopper's enthusiasm for the Stuttgart Surge team is not new. During his time as a trainee in New York City, he had the opportunity to watch several games of the National Football League (NFL) and has been cheering for the Surge team ever since.
The ELF has faced criticism from three quarters of its clubs for its business practices and lack of financial transparency. However, the league and its main shareholder, Zeljko Karajica, are fighting for its continuation.
Meanwhile, the Stuttgart Surge, one of the top two football teams in Europe, currently has no training facilities. This issue has led to a group of twelve rebels around the Stuttgart Surge threatening to secede from the ELF.
The build-up to the final has been further fuelled by the buzz surrounding the new episode of the "Surge 10" podcast, which discusses the ELF final between Stuttgart Surge and the Vienna Vikings.
Rouven Kasper, the marketing director of VfB Stuttgart, has confirmed that there is no dispute regarding the stadium rent for the ELF final. Tickets for the ELF final have been selling briskly, with around 35,000 tickets sold by Friday evening.
With the stage set and the excitement building, the ELF final promises to be a spectacle not to be missed. The city of Stuttgart, its Mayor of Honour, and the Stuttgart Surge fans are eagerly awaiting the final match of the European League of Football.
