Israel has successfully launched its latest observation satellite, "Ofek-19", from the Palmachim airbase. The launch forms part of a broader program led by the Defence Ministry's Directorate of Defence Research and Development, and it represents the continuation of Israel's strategy to sustain advanced space-based observation capabilities.

The "Ofek-19" satellite is a synthetic aperture radar observation satellite, developed by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI). IAI's Systems, Missiles, and Space Group, the ELTA Group, and the MLM Division contributed to the project, while rocket engines were produced in partnership with Tomer Ltd. and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems.

Following its entry into orbit, the "Ofek-19" satellite will undergo a series of tests to ensure its functionality and performance. The satellite is equipped with advanced technology for high-resolution imaging, making it a valuable asset for Israel's intelligence and defence capabilities.

The "Ofek-19" satellite is the successor to the "Ofek-13" satellite, launched in March 2023. The IDF's Intelligence Directorate Unit 9900 and the Israeli Air Force continue to collaborate on the broader program, working together to leverage the data collected by these satellites for national security purposes.

It is worth noting that the Israeli Air Force and the IDF's Intelligence Directorate Unit 9900 are collaborating on the broader program, as previously mentioned. The collaboration between these two entities underscores the importance of space-based observation capabilities for Israel's defence and security.

The launch of "Ofek-19" marks a significant milestone in Israel's space program, further cementing its position as a leader in the field of advanced space-based observation technologies. As the satellite undergoes testing and begins its operational life, it will undoubtedly contribute to Israel's ongoing efforts to maintain its security and protect its interests.
