In the Neuburg-Schrobenhausen district of Upper Bavaria, a 38-year-old individual was caught by the police riding a self-built, motorized bicycle. The incident occurred on a Friday afternoon, when the individual was noticed cycling in Neuburg an der Donau.

The self-built bicycle, equipped with a gas grip and capable of reaching top speeds of 60 to 65 kilometers per hour, was not legally insured or registered. Moreover, the motor power limit on the bicycle had been disabled, making it even faster.

The 38-year-old did not have the necessary license to operate such a fast bicycle due to its modifications. As a result, the individual was stopped for a traffic check and found to be driving without a license.

The individual was also subjected to a drug test, which came back positive for cannabis. A blood test was ordered for further investigation.

After being stopped, the individual had to walk home, leaving the motorized bicycle in police custody. The name of the 38-year-old tinkerer is not disclosed in the available information.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of adhering to traffic laws and regulations, especially when it comes to modified vehicles. The fast bicycle was subject to insurance and registration, but the 38-year-old could not provide proof of either.

This is not the first time such an incident has occurred. Authorities urge cyclists to ensure their vehicles are within the legal power limit and that they possess the necessary licenses to operate them safely.
