Cloudbet, a leading cryptocurrency betting platform, has released a comprehensive report titled "Cloudbet Snapshot: Regional Crypto Betting Trends." The report, which covers consumer habits and betting trends from August to September 2025, provides insights into the most popular events and sports across various regions.
In Latin America, sports betting activity was dominated by two main events. The Major League Baseball (MLB) playoff race accounted for 10.89% of the total handle, while the Copa Libertadores, a prestigious South American football tournament, took 8.98%. The Liga Profesional de Fútbol also made a significant impact, accounting for another 8.53%.
Soccer, or football, emerged as the main driver of crypto betting across the world, according to the report. In Latin America, soccer events and American football events were identified as having the highest cryptocurrency betting volumes as regional favorites. The UFC also generated a substantial amount of betting activity, particularly due to the Du Plessis vs Chimaev bout, accounting for 10.21% of the handle.
Meanwhile, in North America, the National Football League (NFL) took in 10.62% with the new season underway, while MLB stood at a staggering 22.78%.
In Asia and the Middle East, Serie A drove the bulk of activity with 9.75%. The UEFA Europa Conference League accounted for 9.93% of the total in Europe, and the US Open Women's Singles saw 10.03% of the betting activity in tennis.
The report presents a composite set of each region's top five competitions to show where local favorites overlap or diverge globally. In Europe, soccer accounted for a massive 57.1% of the total betting activity. The Premier League accounted for 15.57%, La Liga came in second with 12.78%, and the UEFA Champions League took 10.08% of the handle.
John, Cloudbet's spokesperson, stated that the report aims to provide a clear picture of the global betting landscape and the regional preferences of bettors. The report also highlights the significant role of popular events such as the MLB playoff race, US Open tennis championships, and European soccer seasons in driving cryptocurrency betting activity.
