Stampeders' LB Adam Bighill set to make debut in upcoming Labour Day Classic game

The Calgary Stampeders are gearing up for a thrilling match against the Edmonton Elks, with a series of notable returns and changes in their roster.

In a significant move, the Canadian Football League (CFL) linebacker, Adam Bighill, is expected to make his season debut for the Stampeders during the Labour Day game. Bighill, a likely Canadian Football Hall of Fame inductee, signed with the Stampeders in June after recovering from a torn ACL suffered last season. He is listed as a backup behind Canadian Micah Teitz.

Bighill, who has played 190 regular-season CFL games since 2011, has an impressive career under his belt. He has earned six All-CFL selections and eight West Division all-star nods. His stats speak for themselves, with 939 defensive tackles, 71 special teams tackles, 50 sacks, 15 interceptions, 14 forced fumbles, and one touchdown. Notably, he has won the CFL's Most Outstanding Defensive Player award three times.

The Stampeders have also welcomed back running back Ludovick Choquette, defensive lineman George Idoko, and defensive back Dolani Robinson to their roster. Meanwhile, Dominique Rhymes and Tevin Jones are set to return to the Stampeders' offense. However, defensive back Ben Labrosse has been placed on the six-game injured list, while linebacker Justin Herdman-Reed has gone to the one-game injured list. D'Antne Demery is also on the one-game injured list with a hamstring issue.

The game is scheduled to kick off at 6:00 p.m. EDT on Monday, September 1, at McMahon Stadium. The Stampeders will be looking to build on their recent win over Saskatchewan, which marked a sweep of the season series.

For those who can't make it to the stadium, the game will be broadcast on TSN in Canada, CBS Sports Network in the United States, and CFL+ internationally. Radio listeners can tune in on 880 CHED in Edmonton and 770 CHQR in Calgary.

The Edmonton Elks, who are currently riding a three-game winning streak, will provide a formidable challenge for the Stampeders. With Bighill's return and the other reinforcements, the Stampeders will be eager to continue their successful season.

As the weather forecast in Calgary calls for a high of 28 degrees with a minor risk of thunderstorms, fans can expect an exciting and potentially unpredictable game. Let the battle for the Labour Day Classic begin!
