In the opening week of the high school football season, several players across Southern California delivered standout performances. Here are some of the highlights:

Gatsbee Gumban of Covina rushed for an impressive 337 yards and scored four touchdowns, leading his team to a victory over La Puente.

Aidan Pacheco, Salesian, showcased his kicking skills with a 47-yard field goal in a loss to Western.

Liam Pasten of Eagle Rock demonstrated his versatility, passing for 389 yards and seven touchdowns, and adding another on the ground, in a loss to Kennedy.

Jayden Garcia, Granada Hills was a force to be reckoned with on defence, recording three tackles for losses in a win over North Hollywood.

Isaiah Murguia, Mission Viejo had a strong outing in the punting department, recording punts of 40, 54, and 54 yards in a win over Santa Margarita.

Keawe Browne, Corona Centennial caught four passes for 101 yards and two touchdowns, helping his team to a victory over Servite.

King'leon Sheard, Narbonne registered two sacks among eight tackles in a loss to Los Osos.

Quentin Pacelli of Garden Grove gained 380 yards and scored four touchdowns, despite his team's loss to Los Amigos.

Ryan Wiacek of El Segundo was a threat both passing and running, accumulating 189 yards through the air and two touchdowns, and 136 yards on the ground and three touchdowns, in a win over South Pasadena.

Blake Wong, Norco caught nine passes for 167 yards and two touchdowns, contributing to a win over Cajon.

Nic Brubaker of Tesoro rushed for 168 yards, including a 95-yard touchdown run, in a win over El Toro.

Gavin Gray of Agoura passed for 313 yards and five touchdowns, guiding his team to a victory over Oak Park.

Jaden Jefferson of Cathedral completed 15 of 21 passes for 236 yards and three touchdowns, and ran for two more scores, in a win over Loyola.

Oscar Aguilar, Downey had nine tackles in a win over Sherman Oaks Notre Dame.

Ford Green, a freshman from Westlake, made a strong debut, completing 15 of 18 passes for 218 yards and four touchdowns, in a win over Golden Valley.

Dane Weber of Chaparral passed for 257 yards and two touchdowns, and ran for another two scores, in a loss to San Juan Hills.

Antonio Vidal, L.A. Wilson was perfect on extra points, going six for six, and added a 38-yard field goal in a win over Grant.

Diego Montes of Granada Hills Kennedy was a dual threat, passing for 280 yards and three touchdowns, and running for 164 yards and four touchdowns, in a win over Eagle Rock.

Mark Lacob, North Hollywood kicked a 40-yard field goal against Granada Hills.

Ryan Salcedo of Bishop Amat rushed for 220 yards and two touchdowns, leading his team to a victory over St. Paul.

Richard Wesley, Sierra Canyon had two tackles for losses, including one of his team's four sacks, in a shutout win over JSerra.

Dylan Edwards, Salesian had a busy day on defence, recording 14 tackles in a loss to Western.

Braedon Miller, Beaumont caught nine passes for 153 yards and two touchdowns, helping his team to a win over San Jacinto.

Bryson Beaver of Vista Murrieta completed 24 of 34 passes for 313 yards and two touchdowns, in a win over Great Oak.

Ashton Pannell of Long Beach Millikan passed for 322 yards and four touchdowns, leading his team to a victory over Newbury Park.

Michael Osuma of Granada Hills rushed for 166 yards and two touchdowns, contributing to a win over North Hollywood.

Matix Frithsmith, Hart caught 12 passes for 187 yards and one touchdown, in a loss to Birmingham.

Noah Thayer, JSerra averaged 43 yards on seven punts, in a loss to Sierra Canyon.

Luke Fahey of Mission Viejo completed 16 of 22 passes for 188 yards and one touchdown, in a win over Santa Margarita.

Dominick Catalano of Corona Centennial passed for 330 yards and four touchdowns, in a win over Servite.

Khary Wilder, Gardena Serra recorded three sacks, leading his team to a shutout win over Palos Verdes.
