In the third match of the ongoing tri-series, Afghanistan clinched a resounding 38-run victory over United Arab Emirates (UAE), thanks in large part to a stellar performance by Rashid Khan.

The match began with Afghanistan batting first, and a strong opening stand between Sediqullah Atal (54) and Ibrahim Zadran (63) set the tone for the innings. Their twin fifties helped Afghanistan post a challenging total of 188 runs.

Rashid Khan, the Afghan spinner, then took centre stage with the ball. In the 15th over, he surpassed Dwayne Bravo to become the highest wicket-taker in all T20 matches. By the end of the match, he had taken 3 wickets for 21 runs, including the dismissal of three UAE batsmen: Ethan D'Souza, Asif Khan, and Dhruv Parashar.

Left-arm spinner Sharafuddin Ashraf also contributed significantly to Afghanistan's win, picking up 3-24, including the vital dismissal of Muhammad Waseem for 67, which ended the UAE's hopes and virtually sealed Afghanistan's victory.

Chasing 189, the UAE were in a comfortable position at 76-1 after eight overs. However, Rashid Khan's spin wizardry turned the tide, as the UAE struggled to keep up with the required run rate.

Rashid Khan's performance in T20Is is truly exceptional. He currently holds the record for the most wickets among Full Member players who have taken a minimum of 50 wickets, with an astounding average of 13.75. His strike rate of 13.5 is also the best among Full Member players who have taken at least 100 wickets, with only one other player (Wanindu Hasaranga) having a better strike rate.

As of now, Rashid Khan has taken 664 T20 wickets at an average of 18.47 and an economy rate of 6.59 from 489 matches. These numbers place him second only to Tim Southee in the list of the top 10 wicket-takers in men's T20Is, a list that Rashid now heads.

The table below shows the top 10 wicket-takers in men's T20Is, with Rashid Khan leading the list:
