Star Trek: Strange New Worlds to Soon Air for Free in the UK

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, the critically acclaimed series set 10 years before the original "Star Trek," is set to return for a fourth season in 2026. This exciting news was announced by the production company, Secret Hideout, led by Alex Kurtzman.

The fourth season will be produced alongside executive producers Kurtzman, Akiva Goldsman, Jenny Lumet, Henry Alonso Myers, Heather Kadin, Aaron Baiers, Frank Siracusa, John Weber, and Rod Roddenberry.

The show, which follows the adventures of Captain Christopher Pike (Anson Mount) and his crew, including Ethan Peck as Spock, Celia Rose Gooding as Nyota Uhura, and Rebecca Romijn as Una Chin-Riley (Number One), will consist of 10 episodes.

In the new season, Captain Pike is in Montana at the beginning, and Spock is getting engaged on his home planet of Vulcan. Number One is on a first-contact mission aboard the USS Archer, until her disappearance brings the crewmates back together on the Enterprise bridge.

The new mission takes the crew to the planet Kiley 279, which is on the brink of civil war. New additions to the crew include Nurse Christine Chapel, security officer La'an Noonien-Singh, and helmsman Erica Ortegas.

The show's mission remains the same: to explore "strange new worlds throughout the galaxy." Fans can look forward to more seasons of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds on ITVX, as it's likely that the streaming service will pick up more seasons.

Season 3 of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is currently available on Paramount Plus, while season 1 will be available to watch for free on ITVX starting October 19. The series originally debuted on Paramount Plus, with Captain Pike originally the captain of the USS Enterprise in the 1965 pilot for the original "Star Trek" series.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds arrives on ITVX on October 19, 2025. It has also been reported that work is afoot for a fifth season, which will be its last. Fans of the series can eagerly anticipate the return of their favourite characters and the continued exploration of the final frontier.
