Starlink Designates an Offical Retailer in Kazakhstan
Starlink, the satellite internet system owned by American entrepreneur Elon Musk, has made significant strides in Kazakhstan. The company, launched using SpaceX rockets, has set several tariffs for Kazakhstan's residents and selected official partners to distribute and resell its services.
Starlink's low Earth orbit satellites, positioned just 550 km from Earth, have proven to be a game-changer. This proximity reduces signal latency, ensuring a stable connection even under high load. The data transfer speeds of Starlink are higher due to this unique orbit, making it an attractive option for those seeking reliable internet access.
In partnership with Astel, part of Freedom Telecom Holding, Starlink has chosen Astel as its official reseller in Kazakhstan. This collaboration has led to the Starlink service becoming available on the Astana - Borovoe train, offering passengers a chance to stay connected during their journey.
To further bridge the digital divide, 94 Starlink terminals near the borders with China and Russia will be redirected to rural schools in Kazakhstan. This move aims to provide much-needed internet access to remote areas, enhancing educational opportunities for students.
On June 12, Starlink signed an agreement with the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry in Kazakhstan. This partnership underscores the government's commitment to advancing digital infrastructure in the country.
While Starlink's services are now available in any region of Kazakhstan, the company is required to comply with local laws while providing its services. Recently, an outage occurred, and the causes have been identified. Starlink is working diligently to address these issues and maintain the high standards its users have come to expect.
The connection to Starlink satellites is made through compact Starlink terminals connected to a Wi-Fi router. The company has also appointed Bachheimer as its distribution partner in other countries, demonstrating its global expansion efforts.
As Starlink continues to grow and evolve, it's clear that its satellite internet system is set to play a significant role in Kazakhstan's digital future.
