Selangor Government Embraces Digital Communication with PROM 2025

The Selangor State Government is taking a proactive approach to communication, focusing on adapting to changes in the digital landscape, particularly social media. This initiative is embodied in the PROM 2025 programme, a three-day event that began yesterday at a resort.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari emphasised the importance of a creative and responsive approach to communication, stating that many false and negative news items are first spread through social media posts. He urged public relations officers to be more proactive in addressing these issues.

The programme, attended by over 60 participants including public relations officers, media agencies, and Selangor State Secretary Datuk Dr Ahmad Fadzli Ahmad Tajuddin, is designed to encourage creativity and responsiveness in providing feedback and conveying government policies to the people.

Public relations officers are expected to plan an effective communication strategy to highlight state policies and views. Amirudin also emphasised the importance of maintaining good relations between social media and mainstream media for balanced news reporting.

The PROM 2025 programme is part of the state government's efforts to improve communication and feedback regarding government policies to the people. It is the inaugural participation of media representatives in the programme, marking a step towards strengthening and smoothing two-way relations.

Public relations officers representing various state government departments, agencies, and subsidiaries are in attendance. They are encouraged to learn how to adapt to the changing situation regarding social media and be more responsive and creative in providing feedback and conveying government policies to the people.

The state government is working towards coordinating communication in Selangor, with the ultimate goal of effectively communicating government policies to the people. The PROM 2025 programme is a significant step in this direction, setting the stage for more effective and responsive communication in the digital age.
