Negeri Sembilan Leads the Way in Digital and Economic Development

Negeri Sembilan, a state in Malaysia, has taken a significant step forward in its development journey. It has become the first state in the country to implement the Madani Mobilisation Programme at the state level.

In 2021, the state attracted investments totaling RM 3.4 billion from various sectors, including manufacturing, services, and high-tech. However, the specific companies responsible for these investments remain undisclosed in the search results.

One of the key developments in Negeri Sembilan is the first phase of Malaysia Vision Valley 2.0, known as the heartbeat project. This project focuses on a high-tech industrial park in Parcel A Nilai. Simultaneously, work is actively being done to develop the Hamilton City industrial area.

The state is home to over 500 foreign and local manufacturing companies, with many located in Seremban, Nilai, Senawang, Sendayan, and Enstek. Multinational companies like Samsung SDI Energy Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Coca Cola Bottlers (Malaysia), Dutch Lady Milk Industries Bhd, and Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Bhd have established themselves in Negeri Sembilan. Foreign investments have also been made by companies such as Safran (France), F&N (Singapore), AntMed (China), My NAFCO (Taiwan), and Shin Heung Sec (South Korea).

The telecommunications facilities are expected to be an important catalyst for the development of Negeri Sembilan's digital economy. The state has completed Phase 1 of the National Digital Network (Jendela) project, which involved the construction and handover of 27 new telecommunications towers. This project aims to increase Internet coverage in rural areas and contribute to the national digital inclusion target.

Infrastructure availability is crucial for development efforts, and Negeri Sembilan is making strides in this area. The state government is focusing on providing treated water supply, sufficient electricity, and road and highway network connectivity.

Challenges in Negeri Sembilan's tourism sector include the need for a highly skilled workforce and improvements in cleanliness, safety, and tourist-friendly facilities. The state government is addressing these issues to ensure balanced development in Negeri Sembilan.

The success of these development efforts is evident in the state's recognition. Negeri Sembilan was named the Most Progressive State for 2024 by The International Business Review (IBR) Asean Awards 2025.

Moreover, the state government's commitment to digital inclusion, particularly in rural areas, is evident in various developments planned for Labu, the Smart Port, and the Free Industrial Zone in Port Dickson.

The Visit Negeri Sembilan Year 2026 campaign is a high-impact initiative aimed at boosting the growth of the state's tourism sector. Last year, RM7.25 billion worth of investments were made into the state involving 208 projects.

Aminuddin, the Port Dickson Member of Parliament, emphasized that these affected companies contribute significantly to Negeri Sembilan's Gross Domestic Product (GDP). These efforts are essential for Negeri Sembilan to compete effectively as a destination of choice.
