A burglary occurred on Tuesday evening, 18th March, in Hennef, Germany, at a house in Selma-LagerlΓΆf-StraΓe, Weldergoven district. According to the Rhein-Sieg District Police Headquarters, two high-value e-bikes (one from Cannondale and one from Specialized) and a case of beer were stolen during the incident.
The resident of the house heard a suspicious noise and the sound of an older car's engine around 22:30 but did not see anything. The police are asking anyone who has noticed anything suspicious in the area to contact them.
The total damage from the theft is over 10,000 euros. To prevent similar incidents, the police advise that bicycles should always be locked, even in bike storage rooms, cellars, garages, and similar places. They recommend using sturdy chain, U-lock, or folding locks for the best protection. GPS tracking can also provide theft protection for bicycles.
