Stolen Pedelecs in Bocholt: Multiple Electric Bikes Reported Missing
Bocholt Police Seek Witnesses After Series of Pedelec Thefts
A series of thefts involving Gazelle-branded Pedelecs have taken place in Bocholt, Germany, over the past few days. The police are urging anyone with information to come forward as they continue their investigation.
The thefts occurred at Neutoplatz, Königstraße, and Berliner Platz between 2:00 PM and 8:15 PM. Each theft involved a black or gray Pedelec, and the total property damage from these crimes now amounts to more than several thousand euros.
The most recent theft took place at Schlossplatz on the evening of 9:00 PM. The sixth stolen Pedelec, like the previous ones, was a Gazelle-branded Pedelec, but the exact colour is not specified.
The police are still seeking witnesses for the sixth theft, as well as for the other five incidents. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Bocholt Criminal Investigation Unit at (02871) 2990. Tips can be directed to the same number.
In a separate development, the police have discovered that a group called "Die Rebellengruppe" (The Rebel Group) is suspected to be behind the thefts in Berlin. However, it is unclear if this group is connected to the crimes in Bocholt.
So far, the police have not made any arrests in connection with the six thefts in Bocholt. They are urging the public to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to the authorities.
The police are also reminding pedestrians and cyclists to take precautions to protect their belongings. This includes securing bikes with locks and not leaving valuables visible.
