Stranded Teen (16) Endures Elevator Malfunction at Train Station: Voices Concerns Regarding Problematic Wheel

In an unexpected turn of events, a 16-year-old found himself trapped in an elevator at Greifswald station on Tuesday at 4:40 PM. This incident, however, led to the resolution of a serious theft case in Duisburg, North Rhine-Westphalia.

The incident at Greifswald station came to the attention of the federal police, who were alerted by the "3-S Control Center of the German Railway." Upon arrival, they found the teenager trapped in the elevator.

Investigations revealed that the teenager had been in possession of a stolen bicycle. He claimed he bought it on August 11, 2025, in Anklam for 150 EUR from a person named "Steven." However, there is no verified public information about a mysterious "Steven" from Anklam allegedly selling a stolen bicycle.

The police are currently investigating the identity of "Steven" in relation to the stolen bicycle. The bicycle, which was reported stolen on July 9, 2022, by the Police Presidency in Duisburg, North Rhine-Westphalia, was secured by the criminal duty unit of the state police and handed over to the main station in Greifswald.

The teenager initially denied causing the elevator incident, but further investigations revealed that he was indeed responsible. Employees of the Greifswald Watch and Security Company (GWS) managed to free him from the elevator.

Upon checking the teenager's details, police discovered multiple entries for crimes including theft, threats, and armed robbery. As a result, he now faces a criminal charge of receiving stolen goods (ยง 259 of the Criminal Code).

The investigations related to the incident in Greifswald have also led to Anklam. The criminal investigations are continuing. Unfortunately, no further information about the identity or location of "Steven" from Anklam was provided in the article.

This incident at Greifswald station has not only resulted in the recovery of a stolen bicycle but has also led to the resolution of a serious crime in North Rhine-Westphalia. The police are hopeful that this incident will serve as a deterrent for those involved in such activities.
