Striker's injury disrupts VfB Stuttgart in their match against Gladbach
In a disappointing turn of events for VfB Stuttgart, striker Deniz Undav was forced to leave the pitch during the first half of their home game due to an injury.
The incident occurred in the ninth minute of the game, with Undav collapsing in the penalty area. His teammate, Shuto Machino of Borussia Mönchengladbach, had landed on Undav's leg during a header.
Fabian Wohlgemuth, sports director of VfB Stuttgart, expressed his disappointment over the injury and expressed hope that it is not severe. Undav returned to the field initially but had to be substituted in the 14th minute, with Chris Fuhrich replacing him.
As Undav takes a seat on the bench with an ice pack on his left knee, the mood at the stadium was dampened. The preliminary diagnosis of Undav's injury will be made at halftime, with a final diagnosis to follow after an MRI, scheduled for the evening.
With Undav out of action, the focus shifts to VfB Stuttgart's new signing to strengthen their offense. Bilal El Khannouss, on loan from Leicester City until the end of the season, is expected to fill the void left by Nick Woltemade, who has officially transferred to Newcastle United.
Wohlgemuth also mentioned that they can't afford many more offensive mistakes as they now have to find a new signing for the attack after Woltemade's departure. A replacement for Woltemade in VfB Stuttgart is still pending, with a new signing for the striking position expected by Monday.

In the meantime, Deniz Undav and Ermedin Demirovic remain the two strikers in the VfB Stuttgart lineup, with Tiago Tomas starting on the wing. The team will be hoping for a swift recovery for Undav as they continue their search for a new offensive threat.
