Summer Theatre Workshop's comeback for high schoolers in grades 9 through 12, announced by Thomas More
Registration is now open for the Summer Theater Workshop at Thomas More University, a week-long immersive experience for high school students entering grades 9-12. This unique opportunity, running from July 7-11, offers a supportive and energetic environment for growth as artists and individuals, regardless of experience level.
The workshop, led by experienced theater professionals and educators, aims to help students build confidence, learn new techniques, and experience the joy of creating original theater. Participants will engage in creative collaboration, working together to develop, write, and perform their own original short play.
The workshop offers hands-on training in improvisation, voice, movement, and stage combat. It culminates in a live performance at the end of the week, which will be for friends and family.
Phillip Webster, the director of Theatre at Thomas More University, expressed excitement for the return of students for the Summer Theater Workshop. "This is a valuable resource for students looking to build their skills and passion for the stage," he said.
The Summer Theater Workshop at Thomas More University provides a platform for students to create their own original theater pieces. Space for the workshop is limited, so early registration is encouraged.
