James Gunn, a renowned 59-year-old filmmaker, known for his work in the superhero genre, has announced his next venture into the DC Universe – "Superman: Man of Tomorrow." The film, scheduled for release on July 9, 2027, will star David Corenswet as Superman.
The announcement, made on September 3, 2022, also included an illustration that hinted at an intense face-off between Superman and Lex Luthor, depicted wearing his iconic green and purple armored suit.
While details about the plot are scarce, it seems that the upcoming Superman film may not be a straight-up sequel or a direct follow-up to the first one. Gunn has stated that the new project will be "mean," suggesting a darker and more complex narrative.
