Supportive Measures conducted in Lombardy for Industrial Sector
Supporting Businesses in Lombardy: A Comprehensive Approach
Lombardy, the leading manufacturing territory in Europe, is continuing its commitment to support businesses and foster innovation. Guido Guidesi, the assessor for economic development in the region, is spearheading this initiative.
The region's approach is twofold: encouraging investments in energy efficiency for businesses, and supporting the development and growth of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
The "Efficient Companies" initiative aims to promote investments in energy efficiency, whether through the adaptation or renewal of production plants, or the adoption of renewable energy sources. This drive is aimed at reducing environmental impact, energy consumption, and greenhouse gas emissions. More details about this initiative can be found on the website www.imprese.regione.lombardia.it.
In addition to the "Efficient Companies" initiative, the region is offering several other financial support measures between September 2025 and December 2027. These focus on business innovation grants, SME development funds, and subsidies for sustainable energy projects and digital transformation.
The "Quota Lombardia" supports SMEs that are undertaking or about to undertake a path of patrimonialization through listing on multilateral trading systems, with applications open until 30 December 2027. The "Lombardia Basket Bond", financed with European resources, is another tool to facilitate access to credit for SMEs.
For startups and scaleups, the "Lombardia Venture" initiative is designed to facilitate access to risk capital. The "Start Cup Lombardia" competition, implemented in collaboration with the university system, is also available to enhance projects and facilitate meetings with potential investors, with applications open until 5 September 2025.
The region is also offering the "Business Development Line", a tool to support plans for expansion and modernization of production. The "Microcredit for small and medium-sized enterprises and for self-employed workers" is available to support investments of companies.
The "New Business for small municipalities and fractions" measure, available from September, offers non-repayable contributions for the opening of food and essential goods shops in small municipalities and fractions.
The "Green Chemistry Lombardia" and "Sustainable and Safe Building" sector competitions, with application deadlines on 11 September 2025 and 5 September 2025 respectively, are also available.
The goal of these measures is to create conditions for companies to reach their objectives in the shortest possible time, with the region's commitment based on the principle that supporting businesses means supporting work. The region's aim is to accompany the development of businesses to maintain and strengthen its socio-economic primacy, even in a difficult international context.
The regional assessorate for economic development is promoting measures to support investments and competitiveness, ensuring that they are accessible to companies of all sectors, especially micro and SMEs. This approach is a testament to Lombardy's continued dedication to being the first manufacturing territory in Europe.
