Suspect Nabbed Twice in Sequential Shoplifting Incidents
In the coastal town of Ueckermünde, Germany, a 33-year-old German man was arrested on August 14, 2025, following a series of shoplifting incidents at local supermarkets.
The suspect, whose identity was known to the police, had a prior record and was previously known to the authorities. According to the Police Inspectorate Anklam, he had earlier been involved in thefts at other supermarkets on the island of Usedom, where he was caught stealing goods worth several hundred euros and violating a house ban before being taken into custody.
The first incident occurred in a supermarket in Ueckermünde, where the man allegedly stole goods worth approximately 170 euros and additional technical devices worth an estimated 650 euros. Despite a previous ban, the suspect disregarded the restriction and was caught in the act of stealing goods worth approximately 80 euros in a second supermarket.
Following these incidents, the suspect was charged with trespassing and theft. He was taken into custody due to committing multiple offenses in a short period of time.
