Suspect without a valid driving permit involved in a collision at a Las Vegas bar now faces potential DUI charges
On the morning of August 4, 2025, Margerette Williams, a 32-year-old resident of Las Vegas, found herself in a troubling situation. At around 6:30 a.m., Williams crashed her 2018 Jeep Cherokee into Dino's Lounge, a neighbourhood dive bar that has been a local landmark since 1962.
According to police reports, Williams appeared to be under the influence at the time of the incident. Her eyes were bloodshot and watery, and an opened container of BuzzBall, a pre-mixed cocktail with 15% alcohol, was found in the front passenger floorboard of her car. A small glass pipe with narcotics residue was also discovered in the back seat.
Contrary to Williams' claim that another car had rear-ended her, several eyewitnesses stated that she drove into Dino's Lounge at approximately 60 mph, with no damage to the rear of the Cherokee. Despite these findings, Williams refused field sobriety and blood tests.
The crash caused significant damage to the side of Dino's Lounge, but fortunately, no one inside the bar was injured, including an employee who had stepped away moments before impact. The bar is expected to reopen on Thursday, Aug. 14.
It's important to note that Williams was also driving without a valid license, insurance, or current vehicle registration at the time of the crash. These factors, along with the evidence of impairment found in her vehicle, led to her being charged with DUI.
This incident marks a sad chapter in the history of Dino's Lounge, a bar that made headlines last September due to an unexpected visit from Chris Martin of Coldplay. The visit was actually a prank during a karaoke session.
