Suspected thieves investigates Federal Police according to BPOLI MD report
On a busy Saturday, July 26, 2025, an incident of shoplifting took place at Halle (Saale) Central Station. The incident occurred at the West entrance of the station, where a group of individuals, aged 22, 23, 24, and a 25-year-old companion, were suspected of shoplifting by a store detective.
The suspects were identified and their belongings were searched by the Federal Police officers present at the station. During the search, stolen goods were found on two of the suspects. The store detective confirmed that the items belonged to his store, which is located on the Riebeckplatz.
Despite the identification and discovery of stolen goods, the Federal Police officers did not make any arrests during the incident. Instead, the suspects were informed of their rights and released with charges of theft and shoplifting. After the incident, the Federal Police officers returned to their original duty.
